How is group chat different from discussions?

In MeWe groups that have chat enabled, you can freely chat with other group members about whatever topic the conversation has turned to. Generally, members keep to the group's overall subject matter in the chat, but whether they do or not is up to the discretion of the group owner, the admins, and the members participating in the chat.

Group Discussions, on the other hand, are like a cross between chat's open conversation and the kind of focus on a core topic that you see in regular group posts. In a Discussion, a title and topic for the conversation are given to help keep everyone on the same subject, as the participants each comment on the original Discussion post and others' responses to it, similarly to how they would on a regular group post.

Chats and Discussions can each be found in their respective sections within the group (as long as chats have been enabled by the group owner), both in a browser and our mobile apps.
